Usiloquy Dance Designs has collaborated with Raices Culturales Latinoamericanas this summer to present Indian Steps and Sounds, a workshop series on the Indian classical dance Bharatanatyam, Flamenco dance and Latin American music. A Bharatantyam dance performance will culminate the program.
Indian Steps and Sounds was developed to share with the public the differences and similarities that exist between Indian and Latin American cultures and the effect of immigration on arts of their diaspora respectively.
The first workshop will take place on Saturday, July 14 starting with the beginner level Flamenco workshop at 4:00pm followed by the Indian dance workshop at 6:00pm.
The second workshop is scheduled for Saturday, August 4th starting with the Indian dance workshop at 2:30pm followed by the beginner level Flamenco workshop at 4:00pm. The performance finale will take place Saturday, August 18th at 7:00pm.
